The business started in Walhalla, North Dakota in 2007, when Rossie Goulet created North Border Enterprize. His son Anthony Rossi Goulet later took over the Cavalier operation and renamed it Dakota Pallets Inc.
Today the shop is run by CEO Anthony Rossi Goulet, with Juan Gaytan as the go-to person when Anthony is away and Veronica Cerna handling human resources and bookkeeping.
Pallet recycling is a real part of how the shop runs. When a business ends up with pallets it doesn't need, we sort through the load, reuse what can be used, and recycle the rest.
Pallets are checked first. If parts are broken or the wrong size, they are broken down, cut to 40 inches when needed, reconditioned when possible, and assembled back into usable pallets. Small wood pieces, dust, and unusable parts go into the black wood recycling trailer.
Reusing pallet wood means fewer trees go down and more usable material stays in rotation.
Usable pallets and lumber stay in rotation; small scrap, unusable pieces, and sawdust are separated for recycling.
Anthony wanted the operation shown from start to finish: check, dismantle, cut, recondition or assemble, stack, and move out for delivery.
Pallets are checked first. If something is broken or not the right size, the dismantler breaks the pallet down into boards with little to no damage.
Boards that need sizing are cut down to 40 inches before they move to reconditioning or assembly.
This is the reconditioning area for #1 and #2 pallets, where usable boards are worked back into pallets that can handle the load they are meant for.
Good parts that do not need reconditioning go to the RT pallet machine, where boards are nailed together into pallets.
The stacker holds 20 pallets. Each loaded pallet moves up, making room for the next one on the rollers.
When the stacker is full, a forklift moves the load into a truck or against the wall, ready to be delivered.
Talk to the people building your pallets - not a call center.
For repeat customers we set up regular orders so pallets show up when you need them.
Names, addresses, and clean invoices kept on file for your records and ours.
Have pallets to move either direction? We'll arrange a window that works for your dock.

Most of our work comes from word of mouth. We'd like to keep it that way.
